a friend of mine recently recieved a very “God-y” message on his myspace (omg omg ) account, and i think his response was pretty spot on. therefore, here it is. reflect.

We slept in Church because all the hymns are lulling and the Priests, no offence to the hard working gents, are not only telling us things we hear sunday upon sunday but are delivering it to us in an outdated medium. No one has the attention span with technology spoiling us as it does.
It is hard to talk about God seriously to people because we are afraid of being judged. That’s human nature and I believe God understands that.
Playboy isn’t really that exciting either. It’s really gone downhill.
Myspace is “a place for friends”… and unless your friends are into Christianity, if you start talking God to them they might judge you. Now really, if you believe enough in God that he is the only thing that matters then you won’t care how others judge you because you know that the only judgement that matters is from God.
Clubs are more popular than Churches because among most people, fun is preferred over falling asleep for an hour.
Laugh all you want. I believe in God.
Also, I am not posting this because you Marty McFly’d me.
Saying “90% of you won’t repost” is like calling someone a chicken, and I’m Roman Catholic and that is based heavily on guilt, but God gets a bad rap from the guilt tripping. Most people aren’t down with the G O D because they’d rather not feel guilty for doing regular everyday people things.
Interestingly, i also recieved an email from a friend of mine from gradeschool after about 7 years of losing touch with them. they’re really down with God and Christianity. I’m not. that’s cool though, i can respect a need for religion in someone’s life, and preaching (either for or against) anything ain’t good in my opinion.
but man! fuckin’, mint chocolate ice cream is the most delicious thing created, ever!
